Mark Schwarzer saved a penalty kick in the second half to help Fulham beat Stoke 1-0 in English soccer's Premier League.
Schwarzer dived to his right to stop Jonathan Walters's kick in the 56th minute at Craven Cottage after a handball call against Ashkan Dejagah. Fulham took the lead in first-half stoppage time as Dimitar Berbatov volleyed a shot past Asmir Begovic.
The victory pulls Fulham within a point of 10th-place Stoke and also moves the Cottagers nine points clear of the relegation zone at the bottom of the standings.
