An investigation on the Sports Immediate website, the retail company owned from the Newcastle United owner, Robert Ashley, claims the north-east club looking to sign Wayne Rooney out of Manchester United.
Rooney, who was simply targeted by Newcastle just before he moved to U . s . from Everton in 2004, is contemplating a transfer away from Old Trafford, with Sir Alex Ferguson claiming after his final home game the leader that the forward comes with asked to leave that club. Sceptics have been quick to argue that the story will increase the sheer number of hits on the Sports Direct website inside of a blatant publicity stunt.
Ashley rebranded St James' Recreation area the Sports Direct Sector in November 2011 but the stadium returned to its original name a year ago.
