Bryce Harper Aggravates Injury Despite Remarkable Talent

The Washington Nationals and Davey Johnson are watching Bryce Harper tear the cover off the ball this spring, but it hasn't come without a cost. Brown voiced his concerns about Harper's swelled up flash after Tuesday's game, when HarperAcollectedAtwo strikes in his first at-bat and a walk in his next at-bat. Harper has reached bottom in 10 direct looks, putting together seven straight hits followed closely by a walk. But, according to Amanda Comak of The Washington Times,AHarper may be forced to miss time due to his packed flash he aggravated once again on Tuesday. The Nats' skipper spoke on the issue of Harper and his packed flash, stating: aHeas still got just a little sore top hand.AI might have to give him a couple of days off, I donat know. Often these are just kind of nagging injuries. If it gets real poor you give him a little cortisone inside and that quiets it down, but i donat know if itas that bad." David Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports Johnson unmasked that the group would check with physicians on Wednesday to obtain their view. Despite Harper's infection, he has had the oppertunity to play with out a guard on his hand during game action. He's, but, worn the flash guard during batting practice. Though the situation does not appear to be one which may require any radical measure, it may require several days off prior to the time starts. Davey is caught in an stimulating situation. Does he risk throwing Harper out of rhythm to attempt to lessen the infection or does he allow the phenom to play through it? Harper's determination will probably make it harder for Johnson to counter him, but the Nationals would gain from a rested, healthy Harper as opposed to one who is fighting a personal injury from the first day of the standard time.
