10 MMA Studs of 2012 Which Have Taken a Step In 2013

Olympian Daniel Cormier sits undefeated with a perfect 12-0 report, and in 2012, the Strikeforce heavyweight Grand Prix was won by the AKA member by owning former UFC champ Josh Barnett in fascinating fashion. 2013 has been kind to Cormier, as the wrestler acquired a win on the ultimate Strikeforce card as well as a over Frank Mir in his UFC introduction. So just why is he on our list? Cormier might have shut out Mir back April, but anyone was hardly impressed by him with his approach to attack. All three times saw the Strikeforce stud store Mir contrary to the cage and stall for time passed between body blows. Continually through the bout, umpire Herb Dean restarted the practitioners in the middle of the Octagon due to not enough activity. That tired performance was addressed by Cormier, who told MMAjunkie.com he was displeased with his struggle. ... But man, I was worried. I felt so anxious. It is almost like you want it so terrible and you want to complete so effectively, and then you just type of lay an egg a little bit. I didn't fight the fight I wished to. Cormier's standing in the rankings has increased, but by putting on such a boring showing in the co-main function of a card that shown on national television, he injured his marketability in an important way.
