John Lewandowski unlikely to participate Manchester United come early july - The Guardian

The agent of Robert Lewandowksi seems to have dashed Sir Alex Ferguson's hopes of signing the Borussia Dortmund striker in the close time by stating he is involved in playing in the Premier League in the near future but that is perhaps not "this summer." Lewandowski has a year remaining on his agreement at Dortmund, with Ferguson admitting he is an admirer and want to add him to his Manchester United squad. However asked if the 24-year-old want to perform in the Premier League, Malik Barthel said: "I can tell you just one thing - Robert is thinking about the future visiting the Premier League. The Premier League is extremely interesting for Robert. Just how long is the future, I can't tell you. I believe come july 1st isn't the future." Lewandowksi's team-mate, Mario Gotze, can sign for Bayern Munich at the conclusion of the summer season, and reports in Germany the other day believed the Polish forward has consented to join him. That used Lewandowski scoring all four targets in the 4-1 defeat of Real Madrid in last week's opening Champions League semi-final knee at the Westfalstadion. The report was refused by Bayern, which said the team "has no contract with Robert Lewandowski" ready to rundown his contract and that while Dortmund demand Lewandowski isn't for sale. Barthel wouldn't be drawn when asked if Lewandowski would sign for Bayern. "I don't know," he explained. At the weekend Ferguson said: "If the right player comes along you have to anticipate to produce a shift. Room can be found by me for those who here so long as they have the mandatory quality. I am unsure Lewandowski is likely to be offered to Bayern now. The Dortmund supporters aren't planning to be happy and I do not think they'll offer for their major competitors. I do believe they will often let his contract come to an end, or offer him anywhere else."
