In not-at-all-surprising-news, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are not supporters of horse racing. Their situation? Well, an average of, 24 horses die per week at race tracks across the country, in accordance with a Times article published this past year. Thatas probably a good destination for a begin. Also, eight horses died from fatal injuries at Churchill Downs last August, and no one really knows why. They think it may have something to do with course conditions at a meeting prior to the race in Louisville, however, it speaks to the influence unique race tracks have on them and the delicate nature of the animals. Oh, and there wasnat a billboard in Louisville that would host the offer, which includes a horseas face adorned with a marking on itas mind. aDrugs. Breakdowns. Death. Horse racing is just a bad bet,a it says. Once again, duh. The town of Louisville, who has been hosting the event for 136 years, swells to fifteen minutes its normal size due to the competition. During which thousands of rich people flood the town with ridiculous levels of money a' allocated to hats and liquor, primarily. Why would anybody accept frighten them with this particular purposely terrifying ad? That donat. It was slapped by thatas why PETA has adopted the mobile ad approach, and just on the side of a huge truck. Theyave been driving it across the area the past couple of days, and is likely to be circling the famed racetrack today (externally, obviously.)
